Woody Allen Festival in Bangkok and Chiang Mai

Thai fans of movie director Woody Allen have a treat in store while they wait for his latest movie “Wonder Wheel” to be released in Thailand. Four of his movies will be re-released between 27th and 30th January before the official release of “Wonder Wheel” on 1st February. The movies in the festival are “Everyone Says I love you” (1996), “The Curse of the Jade Scorpion” (2001), “Magic in the Moonlight” (2014) and “Café Society” (2016). The movies will be shown at Paragon Cineplex, Quartier Cineart, Esplanade Cineplex, Major Ratchayothin, and Major Chiang Mai. All movies start at 7:00pm On 31st January, there will be a special preview of “Wonder Wheel” at all five cinemas at 8:00pm.

Everyone Says I love You – A New York girl sets her father up with a beautiful woman in a troubled marriage while her stepsister gets engaged.

The Curse of the Jade Scorpion – An insurance investigator and an efficency expert who hate each other are both hypnotized by a crooked hypnotist with a jade scorpion into stealing jewels.

Magic in the Moonlight – A romantic comedy about an Englishman brought in to help unmask a possible swindle. Personal and professional complications ensue.

Café Society – In the 1930s, a Bronx native moves to Hollywood and falls in love with a young woman who is seeing a married man.

Wonder Wheel – On Coney Island in the 1950s, a lifeguard tells the story of a middle-aged carousel operator, his beleaguered wife, and the visitor who turns their lives upside-down.

    Wish they could bring Annie Hall, Mahattan or his other great works back to the theatre.
    It can draw more attention to this festival.

      You mean allegedly? Wasn’t it some time ago he was accused and nothing came out of it? Of course he might very well be guilty, but neither of us have the full facts. But, yes, bad timing for this festival.

    Woody Allen has made many movies. He is famous, but lately he us not so popular as he once was.

    Many rumours are circulating about him. They are not exactly flattering and some if them may very well be true.
