Hansar Bangkok will be holding a unique live painting charity event on Thursday 26th June, from 7.00pm-11.00pm at Hansar Bangkok’s Poolside bar and terrace. Monies raised from ticket sales and auction will be donated to the Foundation for Slum Child Care (FSSC) which has been under the patronage of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana since it was
established in 1981. The Foundation is dedicated to providing education and care for children ages from 4 months to 5 years old within the Koeng Toey slum which is located within central Bangkok.

The Concept of Live Painting
Live painting is a form of improvisational performance art in which artists complete a visual art piece in a public performance, often at a bar, music concert, or public event, accompanied by a DJ or live music. The unique quality of live painting is the fact that viewers are able to watch a piece of art develop and being made from the first to the last step up to its completion. Thereby, the audience becomes a spectator of the entire process of creation and can witness an artist’s working style and technique.

The Artists
Melanie Gritzka–del Villaris a half-German, half-Filipino artist who engages with issues of identity and hybridism through her interdisciplinary approach using objects, painting, collage and street art as her main channels of expression. Sandro Thomas (Sath) is Spanish and his art is created with basic tools such as pencil on paper initially. Sath’s artwork makes a personal impression and stays very much on message.

The Event
In addition to the live painting, there will be free flow wine, beer and canapés, live entertainment from the Jazz Band “Milestones”, live painting from the artists, an auction and raffle prizes, creating a fun-filled evening while raising funds for an important cause. Both artists will create an individual piece of artwork to be auctioned during the event as well as a combined piece of artwork which will be the first prize in the raffle.

Tickets for the event are priced at 990 Baht each (approx. USD $30) which includes entry to the event, free flow wine, beer and canapés as well as a chance to win one of the following raffle prizes:

  • First Prize – A fabulous joint collaboration piece of art created by both artists at the event.
