‘Poi Sang Long’ Festival

This is one of the few remaining big Thai festivals that I haven’t had a chance to experience. This picture was in the Bangkok Post on Saturday. Here is the caption: “Boys dressed in ornate costumes and heavy make-up parade in the ‘Poi Sang Long’ festival which concluded yesterday in Mae Hong Son’s Khun Yuam district. Poi Sang Long is a Buddhist novice ordination ceremony performed by the Tai ethnic people in the North”.

I’m told that the next one will be at Hua Wing Temple in Mae Hong Son from 3-5 April 2013.

What has been your favorite Thai festival and which ones are on your list to see?
