Mounted Cavalry in Bangkok for the King’s Birthday Rehearsal

The army were out on the streets of Bangkok today. It wasn’t for another coup. It was for the rehearsal of the Trooping of the Colour. This is when 2,162 troops from the King’s Royal Guard will renew their oath of allegiance in front of His Majesty the King to mark his birthday on 5th December. His Majesty will appear at a Grand Audience, or Maha Samakhom, from the Sihabanchorn balcony at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall on that day. The general public is invited to watch. The next rehearsal for the Royal Guard is this Sunday.
