Since the passing of King Bhumibol, I received many questions from tourists asking what it is like in Pattaya at the moment. Instead of relying on secondhand sources, I decided to drive down there myself on Friday. What I found was that everything was back to normal. Walking Street in particular still had the shows and live music. There is no need to cancel a trip to Thailand. The following are the photos that I tweeted live during the trip.
Good morning from Thai Garden Resort in Pattaya. This is the view from my breakfast table. Looks like it's going to be a good day pic.twitter.com/v58lixloJN— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) November 18, 2016
A popular day trip from Pattaya Beach is speedboat to Koh Larn. Cost is from 500B/person just for the trip or 2,000B including activities pic.twitter.com/PCbQafSzqu— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) November 18, 2016
Two places I visited during my last trip to Pattaya were Art in Paradise and Teddy Bear Museum. The first was fun & the latter overpriced pic.twitter.com/RTcoN1ITbY— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) November 18, 2016
