At the weekend I took my Aussie cousin and her partner for a boat and temple tour of Bangkok. It was about a 5-6 hour tour though you could spend longer if you like. Everyone was tired after we had finished as it was a hot and humid day. But, there was an option to do some shopping in air-conditioned mall in the late afternoon. If you are looking to do your own half day tour then you might be interested in following our route. We started at Saphan Taksin which has an easy connection between skytrain and express boat.
When renting a long-tailed boat, make sure you pay for the boat & not per person. Someone else wanted 1,000B/person. Shop around #Bangkok— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) March 1, 2015
You can fit at least ten adults on these long-tailed boats & so if you’re alone find some friends to share the cost pic.twitter.com/xfQbs3fOCk— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) March 1, 2015
Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya is popular with tourists exploring by boat or bicycle. Seems so far from the city pic.twitter.com/HIP5rw0Rw7— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) March 1, 2015
