Over the last three days I was in Phuket to take pictures of the Hungry Ghost Festival but also to visit the beaches. The army had led a crackdown on illegal activities and encroachment on the beaches. They had removed all of the sunloungers, umbrellas and illegal restaurants and given the beaches back to the public. On my last day I visited two more beaches, Karon and Kata. Here are some of the pictures that I live tweeted during the day.
Good morning from Phuket. The weather has been great despite it being the rainy season. Though chance of light rain pic.twitter.com/L5xc6kkVQU— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) August 13, 2014
Don't forget, if you see a red flag on the beach it means DO NOT SWIM! Surprising how many people ignore the flags pic.twitter.com/4Gqt3IgBRJ— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) August 13, 2014
