Over the last three days I was in Phuket to take pictures of the Hungry Ghost Festival but also to visit the beaches. The army had led a crackdown on illegal activities and encroachment on the beaches. They had removed all of the sunloungers, umbrellas and illegal restaurants and given the beaches back to the public. On my last day I visited two more beaches, Karon and Kata. Here are some of the pictures that I live tweeted during the day.

Have you ever been in Disneyland or Universal studios ? There it’s the same. Pay some cash and use the fast lane in order to avoid the queue. Honestly said, I would do so cause 3 Bugs for me is less than loosing an hour in holiday. Don’t open a barrell if it is not necessary … just my two cents
We were to Phuket last weekend, Aug 8-11, upon arrival 3 pm, we were in customs line when a uniformed customs officer came to me in line and asked to look at my Canadian passport, he then said 100 bhat pay me and you go to special line.
Not wanting to add to the Thai corruption I declined. However, after giving it thought, we decided to pay and not waste the one hour in line, were taken to a side counter behind a screen and payed the 100 baht and had our passports stamped. Corruption begins at the airport.
Just telling ya.
