There is a strong possibility of an anti-coup protest on Sunday 1st June 2014 in the Ratchaprasong area in Bangkok. As a consequence, the police & army will shutdown all four roads leading to this intersection from 9 am.

BTS stations at Ploenchit, Chidlom & Ratchadamri will be closed in the morning. Shopping malls in the area like Amarin, Gaysorn & CentralWorld will be closed. The Skywalk between Chidlom & Chalermpao intersection will be closed. However, hotels inside this zone will be open. Staff at the roadblocks will escort you inside.

All foreigners are strongly advised to stay away from this area on Sunday morning. Follow me on Twitter @RichardBarrow for any updates on this and news of when it re-opens.
