Promo Code for Free First Ride with Uber Bangkok

There are now at least three smartphone apps that allow you to book taxis and cars in Bangkok. I’ve slowly been testing them out. My first ride with Uber was a bit bumpy to say the least (click here for my live tweets).  I’ve since tried Uber again and enjoyed the experience much more. It’s more expensive than a regular taxi and so it’s a service you probably won’t use that much. But, it’s good for special occasions or if you just want to be pampered. I liked the little things that the driver opens the door for you and that there are seatbelts and a complimentary bottle of water in the back.

Base fare is 45 Baht and then it is 2.5 Baht per minute and 9.2 Baht per kilometer. Minimum fare is 75 Baht. At the moment, they have a promo code that allows you to get your first ride for free (valued up to 300 baht).  Download the Uber app from the App Store or Google play and enter the promo code uxtb6.
