Some good news for commuters is that the Rama VIII Bridge, that crosses the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, is due to re-open on Thursday 6th February. Anti-government protesters have been occupying the bridge for nearly a month now. It was originally due to re-open on Friday but they cleared it ahead of schedule. However, there are still some restrictions. Coming off the bridge you cannot go straight, you have to turn left.

    Hi Richard,

does it make sence to visit Bangkok in these times generally? We have the chance to visit BKK from FRI to TUE.
our prefered hotel would be at the Grand Central Mall.

    Thanks a lot.

    best regards, Simon
