A year has now passed since the foundation stone ceremony for the Paknam Observation Tower in Samut Prakan. For a long time it seemed like nothing was happening, but it has now started to shoot up at a faster rate. They say that the 179.55 meter high observation tower will be completed within two years. The tower will contain educational facilities for children and local people that will include a library and museum. There will also be a viewing platform at the top.

The pictures below were taken with a drone to give you some idea of what the view will be like once the tower is complete.  The observation tower is being built on the site of the old Paknam Prison close to Samut Prakan City Hall. It is very close to the Chao Phraya River. To the south is the Gulf of Thailand and to the north is Bangkok.
