Pictures of the Thai Orchid Show at Siam Paragon
One of the most popular shopping malls in Bangkok to take pictures at this weekend is Siam Paragon. Thousands of Thais and foreign tourists have descended on the mall to take pictures at the “7th Bangkok Royal Orchid Paradise”. On display are nine species and 120 types of orchids from all around the world. The set pieces are the magnificent Rhynchostylis orchids and a 2.5-metre high model albino elephant made of Rhynchostylis orchids. In addition, there are mythical creatures made of orchids as well as magnificent white swans. The show continues until Wednesday 12th June 2013.

Excellent show. There used to be a Scandinavian diplomat to Thailand who teamed up with the botanist at the Royal Thai Forest Department and they published lots of scientific paper on orchids of Thailand 2-3 decades ago. the Thai botanist, I believe, is Dr. Smithinand.
