Free Donuts on National Donut Day on 7 June
National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June every year. This year it will be on Friday 7th June 2013. National Donut Day started in the US in 1938 as a fund raiser for Chicago’s The Salvation Army. Their goal was to help the needy during the Great Depression, and to honor The Salvation Army “Lassies” of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers.
Various donut shops in Bangkok will be giving away free donuts on Friday. At Daddy Dough they will be giving away 200 donuts at each branch from 4pm. In addition, they will give away 5,000 donuts on the skywalk at BTS Chong Nonsri from 6am. At Dunkin Donuts, they will give away donuts for every drink purchased. At Mister Donut, they will be giving away free donuts at 4pm to the first 200 customers at each branch except Suvarnabhumhi. At Krispy Kreme they will give away a donut for every box of donuts you buy.
