Merit Making Day for Thai-Chinese

On the first day, the Thai-Chinese were busy buying and preparing different kinds of food. On the second day they offered this food to their ancestors. This was followed by the burning of luxurious items that they might need in the afterlife. This included the latest gadgets and fashions. There was even a first class plane ticket, a passport for Heaven & Hell and credit cards. After all, if they were going to get an iPhone, then they needed money to buy the apps. The ceremony ended with firecrackers.
