New Dog Park for Bangkok
Some good news for owners of dogs in Bangkok. The BMA are all set to start working on the building of Bangkok’s first public dog park. Plans have already been drawn up and work will start on the building of the park at the end of this month. At the dog park there will be facilities such as veterinary consultation, exercise areas for small and large dogs, running tracks and watering areas. The park is located in the Vacharapol area of Ram Intra District. I have marked it on a map here.
Any idea if this park every opened? Can’t find an info online….
Yes, it’s finally opened

Governor Sukhumphan announed this project back in 2011 (expected completion 2012). Then he announces it again at end of 2012 (expected completion end of 2013). There’s still nothing there.
Most BMA parks are full of stray dogs, yet they do not allow us to bring our dogs (which we clean up after).

Hi Richard
It was with much excitement I read the article online some months ago, regarding the Dog Park in Ram Intra, given I will be bringing my precious dog up to Bangkok in December 2013, knowing that dogs are not welcome in most parks. Today I got my husband to drive me to the area to view the park and disappointingly there is nothing there not even a work in progress.
Do you have any updates on the park or has it been shelved?
regards Sharon
That is so typical. There was a big fanfare when it was publicly launched. Then went very quiet. Now I know why.
