Is 15 Celsius a Heatwave or a Cold Spell?

When it comes to temperatures I know it is all relative. As it is always hot here, whenever the thermometer drops below 25 Celsius it does feel a little chilly for us. This cool season we really only had a few days of this chilly weather in Bangkok. But up north in the mountains, some districts have been declared disaster zones due to the cold weather. This was my tweet the other day:

I of course got comments from Europeans who said for them 15 Celsius is considered a good summers day. This picture posted on Facebook rams this point home showing how people from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and London deal with temperatures of 15 Celsius. The last picture is captioned “Thailand”.
