Asiatique is a good replacement for Suan Lum Night Bazaar

Asiatique had its grand opening on Friday night and I was there to take pictures. There was lots of celebrities, free food and beer and fireworks. I also checked out some of the shops, but will go back again soon for a proper look. It seems to be a replacement for Suan Lum Night Bazaar. At least one that has potential to succeed. And I think it has a good chance of doing so. Here are a few of my tweets from the evening:

  • The Asiatique Shuttle Boat leaves from the Sheraton Pier (BTS Saphan Taksin) daily from 5-8pm
  • Asiatique The Waterfront, on Charoen Krung Rd, is open 5pm-midnight. It has over 1,000 shops
  • The Joe Louis Puppet Theatre will now be performing at their new home Asiatique The Waterfront
  • Many shops at Asiatique on Charoen Krung Rd are from the old Lumpini night bazaar.
