Over the past two weeks, my sister has been here in Thailand on holiday. I had planned to take her to some of the best tourist attractions in this region. However she was mainly interested in shopping. So, instead of visiting temples, we visited markets around Bangkok. The following are the photos that I tweeted live from four night markets: Ratchada Train Market, Srinakarin Train Market, Siam Gypsy Market and JJ Green Market.
Ratchada Train Market is behind Esplanade on Ratchadaphisek Road & a short walk from MRT Thailand Cultural Centre pic.twitter.com/0XzBpCOURr— Richard Barrow (@RichardBarrow) July 10, 2016
Srinakarin Train Market is behind Seacon. You can take songtaew, motorcycle or taxi from BTS On Nut or Udomsuk pic.twitter.com/Fdfw9XmdCW— Richard Barrow (@RichardBarrow) July 16, 2016
The food at Ratchada is more interesting but Srinakarin has a broader variety of things for sale + secondhand goods pic.twitter.com/FMtLbyjexn— Richard Barrow (@RichardBarrow) July 16, 2016
Siam Gypsy Market is mainly a flea market with bars & live music later in the evening. Less busier than elsewhere pic.twitter.com/LTIRoVT7ez— Richard Barrow (@RichardBarrow) July 17, 2016
JJ Green Night Market is my niece's favourite market so far due to wide variety of goods on sale. Great atmosphere pic.twitter.com/gUjEXiIkV3— Richard Barrow (@RichardBarrow) July 24, 2016
