How to Schedule Instagram Posts

Instagram is probably the most popular social media platform in Thailand. I think it is popular as there is no reading necessary. It’s main feature are the pictures. As an amateur photographer, I should really make better use of Instagram (see my account here), but I just don’t have the time. I’m on Twitter and Facebook a lot and I think that Instagram is one platform too many. The main reason I don’t like it is because you cannot schedule the posts like I can with Twitter and Facebook. Contrary to popular opinion, I don’t sit at the computer all day waiting to Tweet! Anyway, I am really pleased now to discover the Latergramme service that allows you to schedule your posts on Instagram. Well, sort of, as scheduling itself is against the rules.

Instagram won’t let you schedule posts, but Latergramme cleverly gets around this by pushing the photos to your smartphone at the times that you specified. To do this you can use an app on your smartphone or the dashboard on your desktop computer. Choose the picture, the day and time, write a caption and then click upload. All of this can later be edited on your smartphone or computer. At the specified time, you will receive a notification on your smartphone. Open the app and you will then get an option to open the photo in Instagram. From there on, you process the picture as normal with filters and hashtags. The only difference is that you received a reminder to post.

Sometimes I can get half a dozen suitable pictures for Instagram in one day. But I don’t want to spam my followers. So, with the help of Latergramme, I now aim to post a picture at least once a day. Maybe more. Much better this way to spread it out. The service at Latergramme is free if you only post up to 30 pcitures a month. However, if you use the following link, you and myself will be able to get a further 10 pictures per month. I know there are other services for doing something like this, but I like the interface on my iPhone and I have been playing around with it the last few days. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.
