Armoured Motorcycle in Southern Thailand

Policemen going on a motorcycle patrol in Bangkok are not really in the same league as those that have to patrol the roads in the deep south of Thailand. This is due to the almost daily insurgent attacks of roadside shootings and bombings. to help solve this problem, the security forces have adapted a regular motorcycle to become an armoured vehicle. I’m not really convinced that I would trust my life on this motorcycle. What do you think? I guess it is better than nothing, but is it really worth the price tag of 400,000 Baht each?!

Shouldn’t they both be fined 100 baht for not wearing a helmet?

Of course not – don’t be silly! It’s 300 baht.

They never get shot at from their right side?

Better than nothing, but ฿400k seems a bit steep. I wonder how much they really cost.
