It hasn’t been a good day for tourism in Thailand. First the famous Mon Bridge in Sangkhlaburi collapsed last night after heavy rain and then an oil slick hit a beach on the holiday island of Koh Samet. Now comes the news that a Samui ferry was destroyed during a fire this morning. According to a report on Channel 3, the fire was on a ferry undergoing repairs at a pier in Lipa Noi sub-district of Samui at about 9:20 a.m. The fire spread quickly and completely engulfed the boat. There were no reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown at the moment.
