How to get 1,000’s of extra movies on Netflix Thailand
Like many people, I was initially excited when Netflix officially arrived in Thailand. Up to this point, if you wanted to watch Netflix, you needed to have an account in your home country and then turn on a VPN in order to watch the movies. This has now all changed as we can now open an account here in Thailand. However, the movie and TV catalogue in Thailand is very limited. According to this website, in Thailand we only have 4.57% of the movies in the United States. We have 94 TV shows and they have 1,157. We have 210 movies and they have 4,593. I know it is early days and they will most likely add more, but that is a big difference between the two. To be fair to Netflix, it is not all their fault. The rights for some TV shows and movies in Asia have already been taken by their competitors. Anyway, something that I didn’t realize at first is that if you log in with your Thailand account and then turn on your VPN, you will then see the complete catalogue in America. You can then watch 1,000’s of extra TV shows and movies. The only downside is that you need a good VPN service that isn’t too slow.
If you are already using a VPN with good results to watch Netflix US, please share with us in the comments which one you are using.
Awesome, just tried this in Nov 2018 and it seems to be working still. Black Panther is not in the Thai login, but it shows up a while after turning on VPN.
Ok. I have a Netflix account from Australia and I can watch it in Thailand but have no movies with thai subtitles. Any thoughts or ideas other than getting a Netflix account in Thailand?
Does anyone know if Thai subtitles are available? Thanks for any help.
Yes there are Thai subtitles.
I find Netflix.TH has thai sub-titles for ‘some’ of the programming. Also, I noticed when I VPN to the USA Netflix and watch the same title – the subtitle options do NOT include Thai.
Finally, I used to use SMARTDNSPROXY to access USA Netflix – However it no longer works from the Apple TV or the AMAZON TV only from the computer.
Anyone use Hulu + Showtime? If so, how satisfied are you with the quality of Showtime streaming?
I use TunnelBear, it’s good. Restricted movies/TV shows do not show on your list if you connect without the VPN. But when you connect with the VPN they are back on the list.
Tunnel bear doesn’t work anymore for Netflix. What to do!
No Matter how you feel about the Netflix shutdown of VPN, it was certainly inevitable.
I will probably cancel after my 30 day free subscription. Why should I pay Netflix for content they can’t pay me to watch.
My experience in the US is you can cancel and re-subscibe several times.
I renewed for another month as I can still see the American catalogue.
hi richard how can u see the american catalogue on netflix thailand?
I use unoTelly but their days may be numbered

hi
I have Netflix Thailand it is great viewing the little bit of content on my LG 79 inch 4K UHDTV. I tried expressvpn service but had a big problem. they recommended as a location best for Netflix USA was Denver, CO. all other US I could not used. the Denver Netflix all 4K tv and HDchannels and HD movies image quality was so poor also 5.1 audio was bad also. my connection speed is a stable constant fiber optics 35Mpbs down and 15Mbps. went back to Netflix Thailand and everything was great again. can you tell me what VPN service your using and their location? just tried unoTelly can not open Netfix videos. what region are you using and ip address?
Looks like Netflix is going to try and shut of the VPN route.

Richard: when I was Thailand I did not try to my Netflix account, but I did listen to Serius Radio which worked like a charm on my IPad. It has a couple hundred stations, I think, including some TV news channels. Don’t know if you heard of this service.
Thanks, I will check it out.
I currently use Unblock-US. I have been using it for a long time. It works like a charm. If I change regions using my VPN, I get all of the listings for that region. My list remains in tact for the features that are available in that particular region. Also, I use a web-based service to search and see what region a show or movie is available. Then, I switch to that region to find it on the screen.
It is worth noting that I use a Roku 3 box to stream to my large 65″ TV and have no problems at all with my connection. I watch it daily along with other “channels”. I just cancelled Hulu Plus because Netflix is far better, especially when you can change regions!
BBC also works by the way!
Just had a useless experience with the Netflix help-line. Given the apparently small amount of content offered here, they refuse to tell you or give a list (they say it is simply impossible) of what is actually available to see for the money , despite being a large company with pretty adequate resources. All I got was sales talk about signing up and the answer refused to my question.
Seriously ?
Just sign up for a free month and have a look at the catalogue, how this could be that hard ?
They won’t charge you anything if you cancel before the end of the first month dude !
Interesting, as a cheap charlie I use the service from popcorn time. Free and movies saved to my computer for later repeat viewing. Best wishes, Warik.
Yes, but I think whenever it is easy for us to do so, we should try and pay so that the film-makers gain some benefit. I’m still waiting for BBC iPlayer to be available here. I would pay a subscription for it.
I don’t have a VPN but currently looking at AIR VPN , which seems good and is well priced. It’s an organisation offering strong VPN for the benefit of Internet users and a free WWW. Their About Me page is interesting.
If you connect via a VPN, add “restricted” movies / TV shows to your shortlist, do they remain on your shortlist if you connect again without the VPN?
No, it will say “we’re having trouble playing this title right now”.
Just tried to find Netflix.co.th with no success. A google search doesn’t even list a Thai Netflix. I have a private VPN so I usually watch USA Netflix but was curious about the Thai version. Any ideas what happened?
Just type Netflix.com and it will automatically redirect to whatever country you are in
