Remembrance Day Service at the British Embassy on 11 November 2018

The annual Remembrance Day Service at the British Embassy in Bangkok will be held at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday 11th November 2018. The Remembrance Service commemorates the British, Commonwealth and Allied personnel who lost their lives in the two World Wars of the 20th century and in other conflicts since. Poppies will be on sale at the British Embassy before the service. Wreaths are also available from the British Embassy at a cost of 1,500 Baht each. If you would like to attend and/or would like to reserve a wreath, please fill in the form on the embassy website here. Reservation is open until 8th November.

If you plan to attend the service,  use the pedestrian access on Wireless Road. Gates are open from about 9:45 a.m. You need to bring a photo ID with you. All guests need to be at the embassy by 10:20 a.m. and seated by 10:40 a.m. The service will then start promptly at 10:50 a.m. and will last for approximately 45 minutes. Light refreshments will be available in the garden of the residence afterwards. Best way to reach the embassy is by Skytrain to BTS Ploenchit. There is also parking nearby at Wave Place and Central Embassy.

There will also be a Remembrance Service at Kanchanaburi War Graves Cemetery at 11:00am on 11th November. If you wish to attend, please contact The Royal British Legion at the following email address [email protected]. Additionally, there will be a Remembrance Day Service at the Foreign Cemetery in Chiang Mai at 10:45am on 11th November. The land has already been sold and the embassy will be moving next year to the AIA Sathorn Tower building. The war memorial will be moved to the British Club. The next service will be held there.
