Weekend trip to PB Valley Khao Yai Winery
Last weekend, I did a two-day road trip to Pak Chong district in Nakhon Ratchasima province. This whole area is often referred to as Khao Yai due to the proximity of the large national park of the same name. The purpose of the trip was to take part in the annual Harvest Festival at PB Valley Khao Yai Winery. If you can avoid the traffic, it is about two hours or so from Bangkok. I was planning to explore Pak Chong as well, but as it turned out, I just stayed the whole weekend at the winery. It was great fun and I had a relaxing weekend. It made a nice change of pace for me. The following photos were tweeted live during the weekend.
This morning I’m driving up to PB Valley Khao Yai Winery in Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima. Looks like it will be a three hour drive. I’m told it might be chilly. Map of places to visit: https://t.co/j0wRg59vZD #Thailand #Travel #ttot pic.twitter.com/QqZypbm8gv

This must be the weirdest Starbucks building in #Thailand. It’s also their 200th store. It’s in Ayutthaya province on the main highway to the Northeast. Even has a drive-thru. Map: https://t.co/BY1F1jH0L7 #Thailand pic.twitter.com/nZq4ukgVbe

Tung Buachom Floating Market on Highway 1 in Ayutthaya province used to be a nice place to stop for a break when heading Northeast. But it’s sadly neglected these days with many shops closed down. Map: https://t.co/afgpSwD7vB #Thailand pic.twitter.com/D8zqVQQtJY

I wasn’t planning on staying the night at PB Valley Khao Yai Winery, but they had a last minute cancellation and they kindly invited me to spend the night in the “tent”. Though as you can see, on the inside it’s a normal air-conditioned room with all the usual luxuries #Thailand pic.twitter.com/QjXWRfJWDt

DAY TWO:
Good morning from PB Valley Khao Yai Winery in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima. This is the view of the vineyard from my bed. It’s a chilly 17°C but lovely fresh air. I was thinking I might just have a lazy morning if you don’t mind #Thailand pic.twitter.com/zrfPMGfeRm

PB Valley was the second winery established in Thailand and the first in the Khao Yai area. There are now four here and about seven in the whole of Thailand. Their first Harvest was in 1989. pic.twitter.com/K66gloDxw8

Last stop on the PB Valley winery tour is the wine tasting. They offer one white & two reds. The ingredients & wine making process is 100% done on site. I’m not an expert & so cannot comment on the taste, but after a couple of glasses of 14.5% alcohol, I think no-one is 🙂 pic.twitter.com/JXf2oqK9z0

That’s a wrap on my two day trip to Pak Chong district in Nakhon Ratchasima. I didn’t originally plan to spend the whole weekend at PB Valley, but it was both enjoyable & relaxing. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the photos and will come and visit. #Thailand #Travel #ttot pic.twitter.com/WXMZS7tM5e
