Top 10 items left in a Bangkok taxi during 2017

Have you ever forgotten something in a taxi. If you have, then you’re not alone as people are being forgetful every day. I usually tell people to take a picture of the license plate which is replicated on the inside door at the back. But I guess that’s not very helpful if you happen to leave your phone in the taxi. Which is quite possible as cell phones were the Number 1 item that people forgot in Bangkok taxis during 2017.

For people who have lost stuff on taxis, they can consider to call JS 100 to report their loss. That can increase the chance of getting their stuff back.

I once left my camera in a taxi and didn’t even realize I had done so until I returned to the serviced apartments where I was staying and the front desk staff told me the driver had brought my camera back! He knew I was staying there because he had picked me up from this apartment complex.

I would have liked to thank him but he didn’t leave his name or details. I would also have given him a reward as this kind of honesty doesn’t exist in the Uk and had this happened here the chances of anything lost or mislaid being returned to its owner is very close to zero.

By the way, taking a pic of the license plate or the number inside the taxi is a great idea and as I always have my phone in my hand, I will be doing this from now onwards.

Richard – many thanks for a great blog, and all the information you have provided over time. Have a very happy New Year!

Thanks John. I’m glad to hear you got your camera back. My friend got his iPhone back too. Taxi drivers get a lot of bad press, but there are good ones out there.
