This is now the second day of my Khao Phansa trip to Northeastern Thailand. Today is Ashana Bucha which falls on the full moon in July every year. People go to their local temple to make merit and to offer alms to monks. This year I experienced a unique version of this in Surin, which is home to the Thai elephants.
