At the weekend, I was invited by Chin from Chili Paste Tour to go on her Floating Market & Cooking Class tour. Chin organizes tailor made private tours of Bangkok and the region with an emphasis on discovering Thai food. I have been with Chin before on other tours and I strongly urge that you go on her tours hungry. The thing I like about Chin's tours is her local knowledge and the rapport that she has with the communities that she visits. On this tour, we first visited Tha Kha Floating Market where we bought ingredients for the cooking class later in the day. Click here for a photo map of the trip.
The first dish I cooked myself is Mackerel Chilli Paste (Nam Prik Pla Tu). Very spicy. I think I put too many chilies pic.twitter.com/IussWeIxyL— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) June 13, 2015
The third dish that I prepared is Yam Samut Songkhram, a spicy salad with minced pork & shrimp pic.twitter.com/gorgrM2mAI— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) June 13, 2015
For dessert, I made Tuptim Krob, which is water chestnuts with natural coloring & topped with coconut pic.twitter.com/HRQvCT5NWQ— Richard Barrow in Thailand 🇹🇭 🇬🇧 (@RichardBarrow) June 13, 2015
