Bicycle Tour of Bangkok with Spice Roads

Over the weekend I went on a 22 kms bicycle ride in Bangkok. I had been invited by Spice Roads to test out their cycle ride that starts in Chinatown and crosses the river to Thonburi. I love cycling and exploring, but sometimes it’s nice to let someone else do the guiding with the hope you will discover something new. Cycling is becoming more popular these days and joining a tour in Bangkok is a great way to explore the city and see parts that you don’t normally get a chance to see. Don’t worry about the dangers of the main roads as most of the route that we went on were narrow alleys and riverside walkways. The following are some of the photos that I tweeted live during the trip.

The tour I went on was “Cycle Chinatown”. They do other tours of Bangkok that includes a twighlight tour to see the sunset. They also do longer tours around Thailand and the region which look interesting. Maybe I will try their one in Chiang Mai the next time I am there. Price of the tour includes bike, helmet, water and snacks, entry to attractions and most importantly, insurance. Minimum tour size is only one person which is cool.

I have been cycling ever since I came to Thailand It is great with mostly flat roads , plenty of sunshine , very little wind , compared to UK it is a real pleasure . For the last 12 months I have been doing what I call my mini triathlon i.e. biking , running & walking & try to do at least 20 k`s per day Then & I check my BP . A really great way to keeping fit & healthy .
