DJI Inspire 1 drone with 4K video in Thailand

I’ve had my Phantom Vision 2 drone for just over a year now. I have been happy with the performance (see ThailandFromAbove.com) though a few things have concerned me. Firstly are the batteries. I’ve had two of them swell now and unable to recharge any more. They are not cheap at 4,200 Baht each. Flying time is only 25 minutes and so you need to have a couple of spares. The second concern is the picture quality. It has been good enough for using on my website and on social media, but it could be a lot better. Another problem is that the gimbal isn’t really good enough to keep the camera steady during windy conditions for taking video. Even with stills I sometimes end up with crooked shots.

I was really hoping that they would do an upgrade to the gimbal and camera as these are detachable. But, they decided to bring out a new set called Phantom Vision 2 Plus. This came out only 6 months or so after my one which of course is annoying. The camera and gimbal is much better. I decided not to buy but wait for maybe Vision 3. But, now news comes of their next generation drone called Inspire 1. Like the Phantom, this is ready to fly out of the box. But, it has a far superior camera that is capable of shooting 4K video. It is due to be released in Thailand in early December 2014. I was tempted to buy one, but with a 95,500 Baht price tag it is way over my budget. After all, although I fly my drone often, I don’t make any money from it. Maybe I can find a kind sponsor.

Richard you are amazing. The drone is often used as a kite. But it can be used as the ground. To travel a longer distance than our feet. Or to take some good pictures on the surface of the water. Without to be Jesus, the drone will allow you to walk on the water! 555
