Alms Giving to 10,000 Monks at Central World in Bangkok

The fourth annual mass alms giving with 10,000 monks will be taking place in front of Central World in Bangkok on Sunday 23rd November 2014. The road will be closed from Ratchaprasong to Pratunam intersections. The event is scheduled to take place from 6:000 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. If you are attending, even to just take pictures, you should try and wear white clothing. Dried food and drinks collected on this day will be given to the 323 temples in the four southern provinces of Thailand. For many of the monks in the deep south it is too dangerous for them to go out on alms rounds due to insurgency attacks.

Hi, thanks for the info, do you know if the sky train will be packed at this time for such an event? We are thinking of coming from Thonglor.

As it is located next to the BTS Skytrain, the chances are high it will be crowded in the morning. But, itis a Sunday morning.
