Day 2 of Trip to Chiang Rai

This is now day two of my trip to Chiang Rai. We are here on the invitation of the local government. Tourism numbers dropped dramatically after the earthquake a few months back. Despite it being the biggest quake for a hundred years in Thailand with dozens of aftershocks, this has been nothing compared to what they often face in places like Japan. Only a few districts in Chiang Rai had any substantial damage. Life quickly went back to normal for most people. The tourist attraction most affected was The White Temple, but that is still open for visitors.
