On 28th June 2014, at KIS International School, the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM) will hold their annual American Independence Day Picnic. This is a great full-day event for anyone in Bangkok. The picnic will feature a full American BBQ including hot dogs, burgers, and ribs, along with apple pie, ice cream and an American beer selection. Food and beverage will be provided by Dairy Queen, Roadhouse Barbecue, Sunrise Tacos, Anantara, Angel City Diner, Superbdog, Jack Daniel’s, Coca-Cola, Singha and many more. Established and aspiring chefs will face off in the Big Chili Cook Off and the biggest winners will be the picnic goers who get to sample the chili.

American Rock, Blues and Folk will play all afternoon from Bangkok’s best American bands, including: Krispy Durian, Southern Cross, Cactus Terrain, Everyday People, Mekong Doctor Blues & the Groove Junkies, Peter Driscoll and His Cruisers, and Matt Fischer and the Fishes. There will be a large variety of family fun activities including an egg toss, tug o’ war and pie eating contest. Kids will have a great day at ‘Mattel-Land’ which will include face-painting and clowns, a double slider, a rock climbing wall, a rodeo bull, cotton candy and popcorn.

Perhaps the biggest draw is the Charity Raffle that includes great prizes, such as two round trip tickets to New York on Delta, numerous complimentary hotel stays, meals, vouchers, gift baskets and more! Raffle tickets can be purchased at the AMCHAM office and at all AMCHAM events, as well as at the picnic. You don’t need to be present to win! Best of all, all proceeds from the picnic will go toward the AMCHAM Thailand Charitable Foundation to support educational initiatives across the country.

    Hey man,

You might want to check that link to the website for more information. It seems that the coding is wrong and needs to be corrected. The link for those who make it this far down and don’t know why it isn’t working is:

    http://www.amchamthailand.com/acct/asp/general.asp?MenuCatID=2&MenuItemID=188&SponsorID=0

You can copy and paste that to get to the amcham website. The map link worked just fine for me.

Thanks a lot for sharing this information. I had forgotten about it until i stumbled upon this page. This will be a great day out for the family and myself.
