Banyan Tree is gearing up for one of the most exciting events for Bangkok athletes, the “15th Vertical Marathon”. Now in its fifteenth consecutive year, the event will take place on Sunday 6th October 2013 from 6.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. So dust off those running shoes and be sure to join other athletes to race up 61 stories, to the finishing point at the award winning Vertigo Grill and Moon Bar, one of the highest al fresco restaurants in Asia. Those who participate or come to support their friends will be contributing their part in Banyan Tree Bangkok’s long-term efforts to support HIV-positive mothers through the HIV Formula Feeding Fund organised by the Thai Red Cross under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali.

The multi-national faces on that day will include professional and amateur runners, locals as well as international participants, who are eager to race the vertical course to the finishing point at Vertigo and Moon Bar, the renowned alfresco restaurant located on the 61st floor, once a helipad of Banyan Tree Bangkok. Runners will be divided into gender and age categories, and they may team up for couple and relay teams. In 2012, the winners were two-time winners, Mr. Henrik Jannborg defended his title in 6 minutes and 45 seconds and Ms. Bridget Robertson defended her title in 7 minutes and 19 seconds in male and female categories.

The registration fee of 350 Baht per person includes the official marathon T-shirt and a meal box. Trophies from HRH Princess Soamsawali, luxurious accommodation and gift vouchers are also up for grabs for winners of all categories. Registration is available online from now until 30 September at www.goadventureasia.com or at Banyan Tree Bangkok’s Front Desk.
