Kind Bangkok Taxi Driver on Mother’s Day

Bangkok taxi drivers often get a bad reputation. Sometimes deserved, other times not. Speaking personally, by far the majority of taxi drivers I’ve used have been polite and chatty. If they cannot take me to my destination they apologise and say why. Usually they are coming to the end of their shift and don’t think they will make it. I’m never rude or angry with them and they are hardly ever the same back. That is why whenever I see a shining example of a good taxi driver I will blog about it. This one offered to give mums and their kids a free ride on Mother’s Day. What about you, have you had any good experiences?

It was quite generous for that taxi driver to give free rides to moms on mother’s day. However, taxi drivers in Bangkok are usually very friendly in general. I say this not because I’m Thai, but it is actually what I’ve experienced while traveling on taxi. I think that most taxi drivers in Bangkok know the importance of good customer care.
Please forward this story to every taxi driver in Phuket.
Although, to be honest, it would be nice if they’d just turn on the meter.
