Thai Immigration closed until Wednesday 24 July 2013

In Thailand we have a long weekend due to the Buddhist holiday for the start of the three month long Buddhist Rains Retreat. The full moon falls on Monday which is the public holiday. The next day is Khao Phansa which is the start of the Rains Retreat. Both days are a holiday for most people though you will find some places open as normal on Tuesday. Government offices like Immigration will be closed on both Monday and Tuesday and will then re-open on Wednesday 24th July 2013. However, banks will only be closed on Monday and will open as normal on Tuesday 23rd July 2013. As the sale of alcohol is forbidden during Buddhist holidays, the Full Moon Party will be postponed until Wednesday 24th July 2013.
