Taxi Between Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang Airports

If you ever find yourself at Suvarnabhumhi and suddenly realise that your flight leaves from Don Mueang across town then don’t panic. As long as you arrived in good time you should get there on time.
I just made this same mistake and had to do a mad rush across town. I was very lucky that the traffic on the tollways wasn’t that bad. It only took 33 minutes but you should really allow for one hour.
For the record, the taxi fare was 315 Baht and the three tollways fees came to 130 Baht.
I just arrived and was charged 1700 inside the airport using there taxis now relised most of Thai are friendly and honest I cannot say the same for tax drivers who see a white person and see a opportunity to rip you off based on your colour
You either used a limo service or didn’t line up at the official tax queue. If the latter, you are given a slip of paper with details about your taxi. Use this to complain they didn’t turn on the meter.

– Where is the best place to get a taxi?
So would I be correct in guessing that 500 Thai baht would cover the entire journey including airport surcharge for taxi, toll roads and meter fare from don muang to suvarnabhumi
Yes, I would say so.
But if you have plenty of time the free shuttle bus will get you there, last time (in the middle of the day) 45 minutes.
True, but it’s not door to door and you have to wait for the next bus. Taxi is best if you’re in a rush.
If you have time, you can take buses (airport express, 554, 555). From Don Mueang to Suvarnabhum it should take about 1 h 15 min in bus 554, flat fee 34 Baht. (I sometimes go this way on Friday afternoon, from Lak Si about 1 hour.)
It should be very interesting to know the route the taxi took.Highway all the way??
