New Prices for BTS Skytrain from 1 June

IMG_2791

The price of tickets on the Mochit-On Nut and National Stadium-Saphan Taksin skytrain routes will go up from 1st June 2013. But no need to panic as we are only talking about a few Baht. Tickets prices at present are from 15-40 Baht depending on the number of stations that you pass. The only difference now is that the maximum price will be 42 baht. The cost of Smart Passes will be raised by 2 Baht per trip for adults and 1 Baht per trip for students. Some good news is that commuters living on the skytrain extensions, for example On Nut-Bearing and Saphan Taksin-Phetchakasem, might actually see a fair drop soon according to a tweet by the BMA.

30-Day Adult Smart Pass
50 trips (22 baht per trip)
40 trips (23 baht per trip)
25 trips (25 baht per trip)
15 trips (27 baht per trip)
30-Day Student SmartPass
50 trips (16 baht per trip)
40 trips (17 baht per trip)
25 trips (19 baht per trip)
15 trips (21 baht per trip)
PLEASE NOTE: Skytrain passengers with Rabbit cards or BTS Sky SmartPasses will NOT see a fare rise on 1 June. For them, old prices will remain until 31 December.

Presumably this is for single journey cash fares to? Can the machines take 1 and 2 baht coins?

Any increase in the one day pass ?
If they can combine the service of the BTS and the subway for the day pass will be great for tourists.
