Shopping Day for Thai-Chinese

There are three main days for the Thai-Chinese people for the new year celebrations. Today is the “buying day” where they head down the market to buy everything that they need for the celebrations. This includes nine different food produce. Traffic jams today were crazy. These pictures were taken at Tesco Lotus. Day 2 is for “making merit” when they will go out to their local shrines. Day 3 is New Year’s Day and time for them to be “going out for fun”. It is this day when most activities will take place.
