In the UK, people wear a red poppy in advance of Remembrance Day on 11th November. In Thailand they do much the same. This picture from today’s Bangkok Post shows a women buying a red poppy from a soldier. In Thailand, Veterans’ Day (วันทหารผ่านศึก Wan Thahan Phan Suek) is on 3rd February. It commemorates the founding of the War Veterans Organization of Thailand. Remembrance ceremonies are held at Victory Monument in Bangkok.
