Thai Lady Boys Allowed to Dress as Women at Graduation Ceremony

Some good news today for the so-called Thai Lady Boys (or the Third Sex) at Thammasat University. For the first time ever, male students “with a female heart” (ชายแต่ใจเป็นหญิง) are being allowed to dress as women during the graduation ceremony. According to the Thai media, five young men have been given this permission. One of my Twitter followers @Mundo_Nomada, who is a teacher at Thammasat University, said that lady boys are already allowed to dress as they like during classes. But this is the first time for the more formal graduation ceremony. He went on to say that in comparison, at Chulalongkorn University, everyone has to dress in the approved clothes including the Lady Boys.
