Fire at Bangchak oil refinery in Southern Bangkok

At about 7 a.m. this morning, several loud explosions could be heard in the area near Soi Sukhumwit 64 which was followed by flames that shot seven storeys high. The giant black plume of smoke could be seen from all over Bangkok. The explosions took place at the Bangchak oil refinery in Southern Bangkok alongside the river. No injuries have been reported and nearby communities weren’t evacuated. However, students at several schools were sent home [@191Thailand].
