Monks on a Pilgrimage
I often see monks going on their morning alms rounds, but only a few times I have seen monks going on a pilgrimage between temples. This picture, that I spotted today on Facebook, is a bit different to most pilgrimages. For the entire length of their route today, the 1,500 monks walked on rose petals. That must have been quite a sight. Picture was posted by MaJew Sakulpat.
I just heard that the monks will continue on their pilgrimage on Wednesday 4th April 2012 into Central Bangkok. They will start at 8 a.m. from Sarawittaya School on Phanonyothin Road. They will then head south to Democracy Monument, Phaya Thai, turn left onto Sri Ayutthaya, turn right onto Ratchaprarop, past Central World, turn right onto Rama I at Ratchaprasong Intersection, past Paragon, Siam Square and MBK and finish at National Stadium. It looks like they expect to be at the National Stadium by 3:11 p.m.
