Winter

The central part of Thailand has been relatively dry and sunny the past few weeks. Looks like the rainy season is finally over. As you can see from the above photograph, that I took this morning at school, winter is rapidly approaching. Normally you would just see the white of the school uniform. But here, many of the students are now coming to school with jackets and pullovers making a colouful scene. When I left home this morning it was a chilly 24 degrees Celsius. I was almost tempted to put on a jacket myself. Not really because I don’t like the cold. It is just that I really miss wearing jackets! It is nice having all the extra pockets. December to January is a good time to come to Thailand as it is relatively dry and cool. However, down south they have floods due to a different monsoon season to us.

Then, at the far end you will find that the train tracks double as a market! It all seemed to good to be true and I had to take this journey before it became a thing of the past.
