It was a very eventful year in Thailand during 2006, what with the 60th Anniversay of the reign of His Majesty the King and the Bloodless Coup. All of these events were repoted about daily in our sister blog over at ThaiPhotoBlogs.com. We thought it would be interesting to construct a Top 10 of the most popular photos blogged from 2006. These pictures might not have been the most major events, however, they reflect what the general public was interested in when they searched for keywords on search engines. I will post the winners for the Top 5 tomorrow. Can you guess what they will be?

The Bat Temple

When we arrived at the temple it was the sound that first caught our attention. We then looked up and we could thousands black shapes hanging from the trees. Then a huge bat flew over our car and landed in a nearby tree. I was actually quite surprised because I had always presumed that bats were nocturnal creatures and liked dark places during the daytime. But, these were pretty active.
