Date of Issue: 1st July 2005
Purpose: To publicize and to promote cooperation and cordial relationship between Thailand and the People's Republic of China on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries

Design: Illustrates Chuang Chuang and Lin Hui, the giant pandas from People's Republic of China. The picture of teak and bamboo trees are shown in the background. Chuang Chuang and Lin Hui are ambassadors of friendship from the People's Republic of China, now residing at Chiang Mai zoo, which is helping to enhance an interest in wildlife conservation and natural resources among Thai people.

The Bat Temple

When we arrived at the temple it was the sound that first caught our attention. We then looked up and we could thousands black shapes hanging from the trees. Then a huge bat flew over our car and landed in a nearby tree. I was actually quite surprised because I had always presumed that bats were nocturnal creatures and liked dark places during the daytime. But, these were pretty active.
