Record Demand for Electricity in Thailand today

It has been another hot summer this year and, as usual, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has come out to say that we have yet again beaten a record. This is the fourth time this month. At 2:13 p.m. this afternoon, the demand for electricity peaked at 29,004.6 MW. This is higher than last year’s record. There was a call earlier for people to switch off appliances between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. but obviously that didn’t work. They also predicted that the peak before May this year would be 28,500 MW. But, they were wrong. It was so hot today. And probably hotter weather to come.
