Train to be a Guide at the National Museum of Bangkok

nationalmuseum2

The National Museum in Bangkok houses a vast collection of artifacts and antiques from around Thailand. These include Neolithic tools, painted pots, bronze objects, Buddhist sculptures in stone, bronze and terracotta, as well as illustrated scripture books manuscript cabinets and votive plaques. Guided tours are given free by volunteers in English, French, German and Japanese starting at 9.30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Guided tours in some other languages can be arranged. Entrance to the museum is 200 Baht.

If you would like to become a volunteer English guide at the museum then you might be interested in their Guiding Workshop. The next one starts on Wednesday 21st January 2015. The workshop lasts about two months and then in the second part you get to try your hand at being a guide around the museum itself.
