Day Trip to Chachoengsao
On Sunday I took a group of friends on a day trip to Chachoengsao Province to the East of Bangkok. Below are the pictures that I live tweeted during the trip as well as a map showing the location of each place we visited. It was a full day as we arrived at our first destination at 9 a.m. for breakfast and we didn’t get home until sunset. Like most trips of this nature, it is difficult if not impossible to do with public transport. You either need your own car or rent a taxi for the day.

You can get to Chachoengsao by public transport easily. There’s a train that goes directly from Bangkok Station to Chachoengsao for 13 baht.
Hi Richard,
last week I went with my girl-friend to Wat Hong Thong after I saw your tweet about this wat before my holiday. The atmosphere is very impressive because at the sea with cool wind. My girl-friend was very happy.
We went by taxi and the taxi-driver, a good friend of us, didn´t know this temple but he also liked it.
Thank you very much for making a fantastic day possible!
Hey Richard,
I follow your Twitter – thought I don’t subscribe personally – and went on your Chachoengsao day trip this weekend. We didn’t do everything (skipped the 2nd floating market to avoid the busloads of Chinese tourists, and it was too late to do Wat Hong Tong) but WOW, super awesome. Thanks for publishing these kinds of things!
The bat temple was incredible.
Keep it up: people are listening!
Thanks, I don’t often get feedback like that. Much appreciated.
