sat1aug

The latest satellite image for the oil spill around Koh Samet island has just been released. This one was taken this morning at 6:09am (1st August). If you compare to the one below from 24 hours ago the oil slick seems to be smaller. It is also further away from the mainland and also away from the coral on Koh Kudee. There has been no media report if the coral there has been damaged or not. The east side of Koh Samet is still unaffected by the oil spill and the beaches and resorts are open as normal. Only the three resorts on Phrao Bay on the west side of the island are directly affected.
