A Thai Dessert Called Khanom Jaak

A popular dessert from provinces in the central region of Thailand is khanom jaak. The ingredients are basically sticky rice flour, palm sugar and shredded coconut meat. They sell this in my home province of Samut Prakan but I took these pictures in Chachoengsao opposite Wat Sathorn.

This is a popular food souvenir for people visiting the temple. It is easy to spot as it is wrapped in nipa palm leaves and then slowly cooked over a charcoal fire. A bundle of khanom jaak costs about 20 Baht.
